Our goal is not to disrupt the proceedings or to offend any of our fellow conference attendees. Our hope is to shine a moral light on the darkness that has enveloped Mr. Trump’s campaign.
We do not condone any inappropriate behavior including shouting, yelling or otherwise disrupting the conference. We do not condone physical intimidation or altercations of any kind.
Dozens of rabbis, cantors, Jewish professionals and lay leaders will be walking around the conference with “Come Together Against Hate” stickers. Please take one and wear it proudly to show your solidarity. You can get stickers from Rabbi David in between breakout sessions on Sunday and Monday in the AIPAC Village. Just look for the Come Together Against Hate t-shirt.
2. INFO FLYERS
We will be distributing flyers with more information about what our goals are and how people can participate. You can download that flyer here. If you are handing out flyers, please be discreet so as to not upset any conference attendees.
3. ENGAGE WITH OTHERS
Tell everyone you see why you are wearing a sticker and what “Come Together Against Hate” is about. We don’t want to harrass or otherwise bother people but we do want to get the word out. Here are some talking points to help you with these encounters.
4. PEACEFULL WALK OUT OR STAY OUT
Thousands of attendees will be peacefully and respectfully protesting Mr. Trump’s speech at the conference. Many will be standing up before he speaks and silently leaving the room. Others will be absenting themselves from his introduction as well. All will be joining together outside of the hall to share in learning about Derech Eretz (Common Decency). We believe Torah is our moral guide. There is no greater or more profound way to stand up to bigotry than to teach lessons of love, respect, and dignity. Our goal is not to disrupt the proceedings or to offend any of our fellow conference attendees. Our hope is to shine a moral light on the darkness that has enveloped Mr. Trump’s campaign.
Please join us for our learning near the Greene Turtle Bar and Restaurant by sections 104/105 during Mr. Trump’s speech.
5. JOIN AND SHARE
We hope you will join our Facebook group and share your thoughts, pictures and prayers of our Come Together Against Hate movement throughout the conference. We also hope you will continue to stay engaged after Policy Conference is over. Our work will not end until Donald Trump loses the election and the politics of hatred are banished from our collective memory.
